![]() I parenthesize Safe Technician due to some lower end safe manufactures that sometimes send out Bob the plumber to save money. The warranty will cover items that include a replacement safe lock if the current one goes bad, having a “Safe Technician” come to the location of the safe to drill it open if necessary, repair and replace the safe lock which is shipped to your location. ![]() I am not one for purchasing extended warranties, especially when it comes to cars, I’ve long opposed these cover nothing warranties that manufactures hand out to make an extra buck, but in this case I say get the extended coverage that covers the safe lock. Lately some safe companies are offering and extended warranty that not only covers the safe, but the safe lock itself for 5 years. Some of these locks have a tendency to fail within the first year of use, and other lower value safe locks fail soon after that. When it comes to electronic’s, especially safes locks, most manufactures will furnish a basic lock system with the purchase of a new safe. With innovation in our homes that operate our thermostats, tv’s, washer and dryers, camera systems, door locks, and just about everything else, it’s an easy sell when it comes to choosing electronic safe locks to protect our valuables in our home and commercial safes. ![]() Choosing between a mechanical or an electronic safe lock can be confusing when you have the hype of all the new gadgets and gizmos that are in the market today. ![]()
